Attend ‘Legacy of Love’ caregivers forum on Nov. 7

Please join us in celebrating and honoring the vital role of African American family caregivers in our communities!

The African American Caregivers Forum “Legacy of Love,” a free annual event during National Family Caregivers Month, will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 AM to 3:30 PM at the Museum of Flight, 9404 East Marginal Way S. in Seattle. This culturally focused event draws professionals and family caregivers from throughout the Pacific Northwest to learn and share their challenges and joys in caring for loved ones.

Keynote speaker Dr. Janetta C. Brown, Certified Dementia Practitioner & Trainer, is an award-winning engineer, researcher, and entrepreneur recognized by the National Institute on Aging as a global leader advancing diversity in aging research and health technology. Rooted in her family’s own caregiving journey, she founded THE ARC to close the gap between rigorous dementia science and the everyday realities of families navigating diagnosis and care.

In addition to the keynote presentation, the forum will feature:

  • Aging Well panel on health promotion, end-of-life planning, and more
  • Insurance and benefits Q&A featuring GUIDE, WA Cares, and Medicare
  • Resource fair to learn more about caregiver services available to you
  • Free admission to the Museum of Flight
  • Enjoy a free delicious catered lunch and connect with others
