2027-2030 Area Plan for Seattle and King County – Advisory Council Review

Every four years, Aging and Disability Services and other Area Agencies on Aging around the country develop an Area Plan as a response to the needs in our communities. The Area Plan is the roadmap we follow to further our vision of a community where people thrive at every stage of life. It describes the function of Aging and Disability Services as the local Area Agency on Aging, presents relevant demographic trends, and outlines the major goals and objectives to be achieved over the course of four years.

Development of the next Area Plan has been underway. A draft Area Plan 2027–2030 for Seattle and King County will be ready for public review on our public website in July: https://www.agingkingcounty.org/what-we-do/areaplan/.

A five-week public comment period starts on July 13 and ends on August 17, 2026. During that time, community members, stakeholders and any other interested parties are invited to review and comment on the plan through one of the following options:

  • Take 5 minutes to complete the comment form (form opens July 13) by August 17, 2026 11:59PM PDT
  • Submit written comment to Allison.Boll@seattle.gov by August 17, 2026 11:59PM PDT
