Join the Central Library’s Low Vision Readers Book Group for a discussion of “Far from the Madding Crowd,” by Thomas Hardy. In this late-Victorian novel, a penniless girl becomes a woman of means when she inherits her uncle’s farm. The plot focuses on her changing relationships with the three men who court her, and on their personal relationships with other people.
Space is limited at library events. Please come early to make sure you get a seat. Due to the fire code, the Library can’t exceed the maximum capacity in its meeting rooms.
This group meets the second Tuesday of the month at noon. Next month’s title is “I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban,” by Malala Yousafzai.
Books in cartridge format are provided free of charge and delivered to your home by the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library. For more information, call the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library at 206-615-0400.
