Providence ElderPlace and African Americans Reach & Teach Health Ministry (AARTH) will host a Journey to Healthy Aging Health Fair on June 9, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  at Providence ElderPlace Kent-South, 1404 Central Ave. S., Suite 100, Kent, Washington.

The fair will feature 10 community-facing organizations, a panel discussion on healthy aging techniques, food and music. Attendees at this free event will learn about healthy aging and how to age in place.

Providence ElderPlace PACE is an innovative program of healthcare and social services for older adults that is part of the national Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).  The non-profit Providence ElderPlace keeps older adults as healthy as possible in the community by providing comprehensive healthcare and social services including: primary and specialty medical care, a day health program, social work services, rehabilitation, and more. Participants can attend a Providence ElderPlace center on a regular basis and transportation is provided. The Providence ElderPlace team of health care and social service professionals and affiliates provide comprehensive integrated care to participants.

Providence ElderPlace has centers in South Seattle’s Rainier Valley, at Providence Mount St. Vincent in West Seattle, in Redmond, at two locations in Kent, Everett, and one in Spokane. Participants attend the Providence ElderPlace centers on a regular basis and transportation is provided. African Americans Reach and Teach Health (AARTH) is a non-religious 501c3 faith-based capacity building nonprofit organization, established to respond to HIV/AIDS and other major health issues affecting people of African descent. AARTH Ministry was established in September 2002 to help bridge the gap in health inequities by providing social/behavioral health education and training capacity building services to faith, health and social service institutions that serve people of African descent.  More information is available at www.aarth.org.
