2018 Age Wave Forums

Red, white and blue patriotic graphic reads "This election has one deciding factor--US" and shows a checkbox, indicating a vote. The Age Wave is here and it is both an opportunity and a challenge. It is a wonderful thing that people can now expect to live 20 to 30 years beyond the traditional retirement age of 65. And, the reality is that this growing aging population is putting pressure on state-funded services and infrastructure.

The Seattle-King County Advisory Council on Aging & Disability Services is co-sponsoring two Age Wave candidates forums in 2018 (listed below).  Come to an Age Wave Forum to hear about key issues and implications for our aging demographic. Hear from legislative candidates on their proposals and ideas to meet the challenges of the Age Wave.

The Age Wave Coalition represents a broad range of organizations that support the Age Wave agenda, including AARP Washington, the Washington State Senior Citizens’ Lobby, the Alzheimer’s Association- Washington State Chapter, Disability Rights Washington, Resident Councils of Washington, SEIU Healthcare 775NW, Sound Generations, Washington Adult Family Home Council, Washington Association of Area Agencies on Aging, Washington Home Care Coalition, Washington State Chapter of Senior Centers, Washington State Council on Aging, Washington State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program, Washington State School Retirees’ Association, Seattle/King County Aging and Disability Services, SHAG, and PSARA, as well as community organizations in the vicinity of each forum.
