Committees
The Advisory Council divides its work into several committees:
- Outreach and Advocacy Committee
- Planning and Allocations (P&A) Committee
- Executive Committee
- Nominating Committee
- Health Care Task Force
- Communications Committee
Participation in committee work is open to all interested council members. Participation by people other than Council members is subject to approval by the committee. Contact the staff person associated with each committee for more information.
Outreach and Advocacy Committee:
Informs the community about the health and welfare needs of older persons and adults with disabilities; advocates legislation and policy measures on their behalf.

Planning and Allocations (P&A) Committee:
Studies in detail programs and projects receiving funding from Aging and Disability Services and makes recommendations regarding their support.

Executive Committee:
Comprised of Chair, Officers, Standing Committee Chairs & Task Force Chairs

- Meeting Time: 2nd Friday, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., following the meeting of the full council.

Nominating Committee:
Elected by majority vote, the Committee is composed of three members (one from each sponsoring body). This Committee presents a slate of officers at a regular Council meeting two months prior to the Annual meeting.

Health Care Task Force:
Examines policies related to health care such as Medicare, patients' rights, mental health, dementia needs, health insurance coverage and procedures; advocates for improved service.

Communications Committee:
Responsible for communication and technology efforts of advisory council, including monthly publication of Seniors Digest, the AC's on-line magazine.
