The Chair’s Corner: Survey Says!

In January, I asked you to tell me what content is meaningful to you in AgeWise King County and ideas on how we can improve. Thank you for participating in this online survey. The feedback we received was valuable. Below is a summary of the responses we received:

  • Nearly 90 percent of respondents state they read AgeWise every month or most months.
  • Over 60 percent of respondents prefer to have five to seven articles in each issue.
  • The content front runners were local programs, health and wellness, and advocacy.
  • Over 86 percent of our readers are either older adults or people who work with older adults or people with disabilities.
  • 4.3 percent of our readers are African American, 2.15 percent are Native American, 4.3 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander, 7.53 percent are Latino and 88.17 percent are White (non-Hispanic). When compared to the racial demographics of Seattle—King County metrics, our people of color demographics are lower and White demographics are higher.
  • Over 85 percent of our readers are over 50 years old.
